OUR CITY IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY
Save the date: Serve Day is happening on Sunday, July 13th.
At Serve Day, instead of our traditional Sunday Services, we are taking a Sunday to love and serve our city with no strings attached. For us, this is an "all call" event, meaning that we encourage everybody to sign up and join us for Serve Day!
We will kick off the day with our Serve Rally at 9 AM at 4170 Rosslyn Drive. At the Rally, we will worship, pray together, and get ready for the rest of the day.
See below for some common Serve Day FAQs, and stay tuned for more info.
Serve Day Questions
-
Serve Day is our annual outreach event where we take a break from our church services and go be the church in our community. It is an exciting opportunity for us, the local church, to go into our communities and love our neighbors. This summer, whether through a Life Group or by joining a Serve Day project, come be a part of serving our communities and sharing the love of Jesus through simple, practical acts of kindness.
-
The best way to get involved is through a Life Group, and you can find the group for you by searching our Life Group Directory.
If you're unable to join a Life Group but would still like to join a Serve Day project, click here.
-
Each Life Group is responsible for the costs associated with their Serve Day project. We recommend spending time planning your project based on your group's size and commitment level.
-
There will be lots of communication for Serve Day! Serve Day details that apply to all serves will be communicated both from the platform on Sundays as well as through email, Slack, and social media. For specific details for project leaders and life groups, additional details will be provided by our outreach team.
-
Bring any personal items you may need during your project: Serve Day T-shirt (handed out at church the Sunday before Serve Day), sunscreen, drinking water, sneakers, a hat, etc. Your Life Group Leader can confirm any project-specific items you may need to bring: gloves, rakes, lawnmowers, tarps, work tools, etc. Work clothes are a good idea for serve opportunities requiring physical labor, and we recommend not wearing jewelry.
-
If your Serve Day project is outside, make plans to have an inclement weather option available. Some possibilities include visiting a nursing home, serving at a local service organization, or cleaning classrooms at a local school.
